About Us

There are many structures built that are altruistic in nature, that which is humane, unselfish and philanthropic, like: hospitals, homeless shelters, half-way houses and orphanages. There is nothing more altruistic than a lighthouse. Lighthouses are landmarks by day and beacons by night for one expressed purpose: to save.

America’s first lighthouse was built in 1716 on Little Brewster Island in Boston Harbor. Before the age of automated navigational systems there were in excess of 1,200 lighthouses built in the United States.

As lighthouses for our Lord, “a city set on a hill,” we too exist for only one reason: to serve Jesus Christ the “Light of the world” by reflecting the spiritual light we have received from Him in the way we live and in the gospel we share.

This is our passion at LBF: to shine the light of Jesus through our transformed lives & on the place our transformation began – the Cross. Like the bright, shining beam of a lighthouse, God’s love reaches out to us thru the Cross, delivering men and women from the kingdom of darkness and transferring them by faith into the kingdom of Jesus; the kingdom of light, love, mercy, grace and forgiveness.

D.L. Moody had it right when he wrote – “We are told to let our light shine and if it does, we won’t need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call attention to their shining – they just shine.”
