Salvation
Jesus Died for Sinners - Will you live for Him?
The Chasm
Man’s sin and rebellion against God’s holiness is an impassable chasm. Sin is the great divide between God and man. The Bible says that: “Your iniquities have separated you from God - for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23)
The Connection
There is only one bridge that will span the chasm of man’s sin and that is God Himself, in the person of Jesus Christ. The Cross of Jesus stretches over the divide of sin, for Jesus is the divine peacemaker, bringing man to God. He is the door that leads to the narrow way of eternal life. Jesus said: “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved. I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 10:9; 14:6) The only way man can be right with God is through the Cross work of Jesus Christ where he “bore man’s sin in His own body on the tree.” (I Peter 3:24)
The Confession
To walk across the chasm of man’s sin, through the Cross of Christ and enjoy friendship with God for all eternity, one must accept in believing faith that Jesus died and rose again for their sins. Salvation from sin, guilt and death is given as a free gift of God’s grace, but to receive the gift, man must acknowledge his sin, turn from it and trust Jesus to rescue him. The Bible says: “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Isaiah 55:6; Romans 10:9, 13). Jesus offers you His salvation today, so do not harden your heart! Jesus Himself said: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
The Crown
The Bible uses the illustration of running in a race to describe the race of life. Some run in life’s race to gain momentary things, that which disappears and fades away. But those who confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior, accepting by faith Jesus as their Master and Sin-Deliverer, are those that run for an “imperishable crown - the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” (I Corinthians 9:24-25; James 1:12) This crown of everlasting life can never compare to the passing fame and materialism of this life, for the Bible says - “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (I Corinthians 2:9)
